whats the command in xterminal to get super user privil.

I do but not finding anything , i tried the command you mentioned it says then after enable rd mode if you want to break your device which i ignore...i am executing a program dpkg -i filename when i do says i need to be a super user...

Go to gronmayer.com/it and search for "becomeroot", then add that repository and install becomeroot from Application Manager.

haaa i did but wasnt sure why n uninstalled thanks will do it again

doh! ok installed now i get file isnt there....i'm using dpkg to run a file

You are probably not in the right directory. Where is the file?

Oh, and kill the Application Manager if its running.

sudo .... if you are setup like a Linux box should be. Is all you need. Also too if you have installed openssh or otherwise set a root password su works too, however the permissions aren't set correctly by default on maemoOS's.
