I was putting off trying OS2007HE for quite a while due to some of the negative comments I have read over the last few months, but I finally decided to give it a try
... and I am very glad that I did.
It really is an excellent acheivement and a very usable update to my tablet.

Highlights for me:
Network connection maintained on shutting the cover (with many configurable options)
Faster text entry and better handwriting recognition
Better task switching function
More widely available packages
Better browser choices - Opera for speed, MicroB for compatability
Multiple alarms
Stability - yes, I see no stability issues on my 770 so far
Resizing applets
Faster

In general it just feels like a new machine.

In the future I will be able to investigate:
Skype
Flash 9

I encourage more users to try it out as for me it was certainly worth the effort.

Ditto! 2007HE makes my 770 far more usable (though still too slow).

Ditto from me too.
I had actually abandoned using my 770 - but when HE2007 came it revitalized my 770.
I use it on a daily basis as couch companion. It runs pretty stable, but I have had quite a few "constant boot" errors - where the unit wouldn't boot correctly. Only remedy was to reflash unit.

The current HE2007 seems more stable - but still a pain with the sudden freezing that occurs in most of the programs I use (claws mail, rss, browser microB). The good thing is that the unit actually catches these freezes and allows me to shut down the program.

In fact, after the wireless corruption bugfix, 2007HE is almost as stable as 2006
