Other than directly typing, is there a sort of easy way to transfer contacts list between two tablets?

TIA

One way might be to export them from the contacts->tools-> export menu using vCard format, then copy the file over onto the new device and import them. I've transferred contacts to gmail that way and it seemed to work.

It looks like you have a few options really.

If you have Bluetooth up and running on the tablets and pair them, then you should be able to "send" contacts directly. Just bring up the contact list on one tablet, select the contacts you want to send, and choose "Contact->Send...->Via Bluetooth" from the pulldown menu.

Or you can use "Tools->Export..." from the pulldown menu there. Then transfer the file to the other tablet and "Tools->Import..."

Or import them to Gmail and then add a Google Talk Account... and they go right into your built in app
