ok you have a machine on your network with a NAT'd ip 192.168.1.11. your n800 has a NAT'd address of 192.168.1.12. your router has an external IP of 47.25.13.193 and an internal address of 192.168.1.1.

when you are on your network you can rdesktop to your machines ip of 192.168.1.11 from your n800 with an ip of 192.168.1.12 as long as your pc is set to allow RDP connections.

you go to your friends house and connect to his wireless network. by chance you get the same ip of 192.168.1.12 from his router which has the same internal ip as your router, 192.168.1.1, but a different external ip. you want to connect to your pc at home via your n800.

first you have to run home and allow port 3389 through the routers firewall and forward that port to 192.168.1.11 on port 3389.

run back to your friends house, grab your n800 and rdesktop to your routers ip of 47.25.13.193 on port 3389.

RFC 1918 IPs are not routed over the internet and thats why you cannot connect to your machine from your friends house. what happens is that the rdesktop app tries to connect to a machine on the local network with the ip of 192.168.1.11, not your pc at home with that ip.

by using the routers external ip and having it forward the RDP traffic to the machine you want to connect to, you can have access to your pc from anywhere. mind you there is a huge security hole in this setup, as anyone can attempt to connect to your pc if they find the port open.
