Sorry if this has been posted before -- I scanned through this entire sub-forum and didn't see a topic re: weather.

I just downloaded the OM weather and when I tried to set it up, I only had "empty" drop down menus for choosing country, city etc. The only thing it would let me do is define a custom "zipcode" but didn't like my Canadian postal code.

Suggestions? Googling didn't seem to reveal more than a really old blog post saying only about 4 canadian cities were in the drop down menu (which is empty for me anyway).

Thanks!

I had exactly the same problem. I live in the suburbs of Toronto and cannot setup the station either. There is no option you can choose besides adding a custom location station, but I don't know of any station codes to put in the field.

Please help us poor Canandians.

Thanks,

Noticed this too. You are only able to enter the Country. It is not possible to enter a province. This makes it impossible to choose many stations (eg montreal, quebec vs montreal, ontario). The dialog need to let us enter provinces....

I found that after reboot, the "empty" drop-down menu was populated by major cities of the world from for me to choose.

You should go to:
settings
Locations
Right button "add"
Select Country
then deploy the station(place) and locate your place
or if doesn't work
click on "add custom station" and try by name or zip code
Hope this helps.

D'oh! All this and I didn't do the "turn it off then turn it back on" trick?!

Worked like a charm, thanks ch8xy, and it has TONS of Canadian cities, even Dauphin, MB!

edt: If you live in Montreal, Ontario then I'm assuming you're used to being screwed like this all the time. Why would they name another city Montreal??

This is what we were doing. The problem is, the drop down menus don't propagate unless you've rebooted first. And, the "custom" doesn't recognize Canadian postal codes. (Seems to only want ZIP codes.)

Thanks, though! Looks like the problem is now solved!

Thanks everyone. It worked after the reboot. Maybe next time I'll read the information window after the installation is complete. LOL...

Excellent program. Keep up the good work.

We Canadians are going to be real dangerous now that we all have access to our weather data! First the weather, then the world!

muahahaha!
