uktube is supposed to download utube video to watch on the
n800 offline (and solving the sluggish viewing while downloading issue).

unfortunately... i only get a thumbnail of the video i want
but it does not load or play.... i have the n800 and os2008.

i also notice uktube sets the directory to save the video as /mmc but i do not see that directory with file manager... i do see the file in my videos directory on my sd card, but the size is listed as 1KB.

any idea why Uktube would fail to load a video?????

you're lucky you get a thumbprint! on my recently upgraded os2008 tablet,it loads then dissapears. when i load ukmp dark,it also dissapears down the pan! had the same prob on the 770. when it works tho' its brilliant. only god knows why it wont work!

i uninstalled and reinstalled uktube and python runtime several times...
but no luck...it consistently does not load videos

so we are both in the same boat... does anyone have
uktube working on os2008?

I realy dont understand what I should use it for!? is it just a tool do download youtube videos with?

uktube on my N800 running OS2008 loads thumbnail, but doesn't download. I recall this occuring in OS2007 when youtube changed something. I don't know if this is the case now, but I hope it is resolved soon.

miind: uktube downloads the youtube videos as you suggest...

I get exactly the same problem on my N810. Doesn't save, just stalls / crashes. A 1kb file is created in the download directory.

I am afraid it is due to some new You Tube policy. I got to this conclusion since I never installed the os2007 version. With the os2008 version on my n800 it worked fine for a while, then, suddenly, I got the same "thumbnail only-1k file" problem you noticed.

Maybe one should verify is youtube has prevented .flv downloads even with some webapps like youtubex.

I just ckecked with the http://www.videodl.org/ webapp.

You tube still allows .flv downloading. The UKtube mystery remains unsolved.
