This is one of those things I feel I should have realized before but didn't - discovered by accident just now and thought I'd share. Searching for the terms jaiku jabber returned no results so hopefully this isn't old news.

I have jaiku@jaiku.com added as a jabber 'buddy' which enables me to post jaikus via the built-in (n800) IM client. I had forgotten that doing this also results in IM's from your jaiku when there are new posts. After adding a couple podcast feeds to my jaiku via the www page, I was quite jolly to discover that I was now receiving instant messages alerting me of new podcast episodes, the IM even containing a link directly to the mp3. Clicking this link immediatly streams the podcast via media player; 'rigght clicking' presents save as option, etc..

Thought this was kinda nifty.

Thanks didn't know you could do this, just been testing out on my N800 OS2008 using built-in GTalk IM.

Recent additions to subscribed rss feeds didn't produce new instant messages, so i guess it doesn't work as I originally thought.
