Hi there...

has anyone else noticed that the RSS-Applet eats lots of CPU Time when it's scrolling? I just saw it in the statusbar app which draws nice graphs for CPU and Mem - after I disabled the RSS Applet, everything seemed to be smoother... Now I wonder why this little scrolling was responsible for all those spikes in CPU Load and if there is a nicer alternative (as an RSS Applet!) which doesn't stress the CPU that much.

The whole RSS reader is really heavy. It is strange since it's hardly doing anything...

This used to be one of my most used applications on the 770. Now, I have disabled it on my n800 running 2008. I noticed the same thing a while back. Why not have it like it used to be, this scrolling business is lame and does not optimize the usefulness. When I look at the rss reader, I want to see the headlines all in a row, I don't want to scroll or wait for the next headline to scroll. This needs to be fixed and the space between the lines needs to be reduced.

Not sure if this helps, but what about disabling it under Tools/Settings/RSS Home Applet? Or is this not what you meant? N800/OS2008 - Carl

The reader is much faster if you disable pictures downloading and if you empty the cache.
