hello, iread everything i can and followed the tutorials to partition the internal card on the N810 and install KDE, unfortunately I was not able to get to the point of installing KDE, i followed the {http://www.thisweekinnuclear.com/KDEonN800.html}
guide with the help of PinCushionQueen, but even after trying to configure the bootmenu.conf file I still cannot run this command
./initfs_flash. In the website I am having trouble with part 8, 9, and 10 when i restart my tablet the bootmenu appears and i choose mmc2 but it fails , however when i take the external card out, like we all know it works.

How can I fix this bug, what am I doing wrong?

please help i want to see KDE!!!

thanks

From what you described, you have NOT been able to clone OS.

Follow this thread, http://www.internettablettalk.com/fo...+clone&page=30, thread #1 and #292, a step by step instruction. Once succeeded, we then work to get you install KDE, even KDEv2. How about that?

Here, http://www.internettablettalk.com/fo...t=15491&page=7, thread #66, step by step installation of KDEv2.

How are we doing?

at least as downloaded today 16feb2008 fanoush's initfs_flasher does not work on my n810 running 2008-50-2 so it is not possible to clone os to card so even reading the directions on http://www.internettablettalk.com/fo...+clone&page=30, thread #1 and #292 wont help

Provide even more details :-)
Copy and paste what you did exactly and what was the output.

Also try to redownload initfs flasher .tgz archive.

That's exactly the same error that Bonaojn was having.

FWIW, I did have her use the Millhouse scripts (nupgrade.sh) and the clone all seemed to go well (as evidenced by able to boot if external SD card is removed). This flasher error came after copying over a bootmenu.conf file to fix the N810 MMC naming bug and then needing to rerun the initfs_flasher.

So @ Bonaojn - so sorry that you're still having troubles but hopefully it was just something wrong with the flasher download.

I would suggest trying the following again from Pronuke's instructions (although I've made a addition shown in red):

Download the flasher application from here and save to "Documents"

http://fanoush.wz.cz/maemo/initfs_flasher.tgz
Install the flasher application to create a boot menu

# cd /home/user/MyDocs/.documents/
# tar zxvf initfs_flasher.tgz (check location of Tar first)
# cp path/to/your/bootmenu.conf /home/user/initfs_flasher/
# cd initfs_flasher/
# ./initfs_flash

Where the path to the bootmenu.conf would be something like "/media/mmc1/bootmenu.conf " if you just put it in the root directory of your external SD card. The internal SD card is /media/mmc2/

Hope this gets ya going

I ran into a similar problem when I tried to flash my N810; when I examined the downloaded initfz_flasher archive I noticed that the file size was off.
I then tried to download the file with wget and when I had done that it worked.
