I have a n800 with OS2008. I was trying to make media box re read the music files I had. So I went into the settings tab and removed all the folders. Now when I start Media Center all I see is the movie tab with nothing else. If I press the volume button, The other icons pop up and work except for the config icon where you add folders. So I can't do anything. Weird thing is I am pretty sure I have removed all the folders before with no ill effect.

The reason why I was fooling around with the folders was that Mediabox Media Center gets really temperamental with files. If I don't have album art and then add it, media center wont see the art unless I rename the file after the program has run. I had cards with the same albums in them and now the song names won't show up at all, unless you make it full screen while playing, then it shows the info correctly. Which is why I was fooling around with the folders in the first place.

All the above problems occur no matter how many times I install and uninstall media center using the App Manager.

There must be some place it is caching config data even when you uninstall it, but I can't figure out where that is. I tried removing some of the dependencies thinking that would help but nothing works.

I would like any help to completely remove MediaBox so I can reinstall it and hopefully fix any problems. MediaBox is very stable when playing back mp3's, can see ogg files properly, and it works with my sorted folders for my albums nicely. I really rely on this program and hope I can fix it.

Thanks very much for any help.

If I'm not wrong the thumpnails are stored in:
/home/user/.thumbnails/mediabox/

This is a known problem and will be fixed with the next release.
Uninstalling and reinstalling mediabox won't help. Reflashing the device would help, but this is a bad workaround.
The folder list is stored in gconf. If you reset the gconf keys in /apps/maemo-mediabox using gconftool-2, it would work again.
But I'm gonna release a bugfix soon.
