One of the things I love about the FBReader ebook reader software is that I can rotate ebooks and read them in portrait mode like a real book. I also have several pdf ebooks and other documents and it would be useful to be able to rotate those so they display in portait mode as well. The built in pdf viewer on the 770 does not have any option like this.

Does anyone know of a pdf reader that has this option?

I have tried to install this evince before. From the application manager itself, I get a missing dependancy (libglade I think). Had no luck finding the missing dependancy anywhere... From the Maemo site directly, nothing happens when I click install and then confirming that I wish to open the file. Application Manager does launch, but nothing happens after that... I am running OS2006 and have enabled many of the recommended repos...

IIRC libglade is in
http://repository.maemo.org
gregale
free non-free

It should be seen as a bug that evince (from maemo-extras repository) depends on a package in repository.maemo.org. repository.maemo.org is solely meant for the SDK, but not for the actual device. It's easy to break the OS with it.

Thanks to you both linux_author and pycage...

I was able to resolve the IIRC libglade dependancy and install evince. It is exactly what I need
