I just came across an online store, MacMall, www.macmall.com, that is selling the N800 for $189.99 with free UPS shipping and no tax. I did found that the store/company may be going under several different online names, but all with the same Torrance, CA, address. Anybody know anything about the store?? Reputation??

MacMall has been near 2-decades...I used to buy stuff now and then back in the late 80s or maybe the early 90s those decades are sort of blurry anymore...heh...had good service and even sold actually Mac parts when Apple really didn't like that...

They dont have it in stock AND will not tell you, and the free shipping is a joke. PCMall MacMall, same sh1t, avoid as scorpion bites, search on this forum, it is a 100% waste of time.

Well, say what you may, I just bought one. (I like my N800 so much, I figure I'm going to need one for my girlfriend when we travel abroad, or some friend will want one too, or I'll sell it on eBay without taking a loss. All this talk of it being discontinued made me nervous!) I've bought a couple things over the years from MacMall, and they've been fine. Do they have it in stock? I guess I'll soon find out. And as for free shipping -- they didn't even bother with the rebate hassle on my invoice, just made the shipping free.

I've been buying things from them for years, all my Macs, web cams, keyboards, you name it, they have been great. Never had one problem with them. Mac Mall caters to the Mac side of things, where PC Mall caters to the PC Weenies.

I've had problems where I saw an unusually great price at MacMall and I called and confirmed with the salesperson that the price was good and then I placed an order. They later tried to change the order without confirming it with me and when I called them and complained they gave me the runaround. They eventually made good on the original sale, but it was after I complained with a lot of people.

I gotta figure they ARE in stock, since I purchased mine yesterday and today it shows as SHIPPED, with the $189 price tag and free shipping. (And as for Nokia discontinuing the N800 -- hey, $200 was my price point, I wouldn't have gotten into this at $400, and now I've gone and bought TWO. I hope they keep a low-price unit along with the top-of-the-line.)

I used to buy all my macs etc at Macmall. Then, they sold me an expensive scanner that was dead on arrival. I missed the 30 day limit on returns. Out lots of bucks. I don't buy from them now.

Sorry to be snippy, but it was DOA and you couldn't get it back to them within 30 days? I got a phone DOA and it was back in 3 days.
