A couple people have talked about creating custom icons for the desktop and even bookmarks.

If you create a bookmark and it adds a the specific logo from the site (e.g. msn logo for hotmail) I am wondering if there is a way to have it update a large version of the logo (like the existing ones for google)?

I've been wondering the same thing. It's annoying having the nice large icons for Google and Facebook, and then for any other bookmark its a small, blurry icon.
