it seems that python-cairo is not available for 2007HE (a forgotten dependency)

i'll check what it can be done to have it working on 2007 also.

Cheers
Mihai

How uncanny... I was about to write this same query myself but it seems someone has beaten me to it!

I spent ages last night trying to get it to work but I can't seem to get python-gdata installed on my device?! Everytime I try and install mytube it says it is missing but I can't find the right repos. I have installed the python 2.5 runtime but can't get the rest of the package.

Can someone point me in the right direction of the repos, or alternatively, confirm as to wether or not it can be installed on os2006?

Thanks in advance, wonderful helpful people

Erm, ok, firstly, apologies for the double post but I can't get the stupid edit button to work... Secondly, I just noticed the title of this here thread. In my defence, it was early when I posted the above, I'm not good in the mornings!

However, I am still open to suggestions as to where I can find the repos for python or the confirmation of os2006.

Please accept my sincere apologies for this morning idiocy

I think I have got all the necessary dependencies installed, but I just get that message about python-cairo.

The other dependcies I have installed through the application manager. Do you not see them on your list of possible applications to install?
You might have to be in red pill mode to see them (search in the forum for how to enable red pill mode).

Sneaky.

The more I play with this IT, the more suprises I seem to find. The Red Pill Mode seems to explain quite a lot... Good work my man, I should have that up and running very soon. I'll be sure to let everyone know how it goes (as long as it works!).

This is what i get when i launch mytube 0.09.
There are just buttons with a blank screen.
The following is the output upon startup:

/ $ mytube
/usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/mytube/guimytube.py:519: GtkWarning: gtk_menu_attach_to_widget(): menu already attached to GtkImageMenuItem
self.window.set_menu(file_menu)
/usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/mytube/ystorage.py:80: GtkWarning: gdk_pixbuf_new_from_file_at_scale: assertion `width > 0 && height > 0' failed
img = gtk.gdk.pixbuf_new_from_file_at_size(YStorage.getI mgPath(filename), w, h)

Because Mihai keeps telling me how lazy I've become, I'm gonna take mytube and make it run on 2007HE over the weekend.... maybe

On the other hand, I've come to the conclusion that 770 is, unfortunately, a dead device - it just can't handle the newer OS2007HE which is really memory hungry - it swaps even with no applications launched.

I'm gonna buy a N800 and attemp transplant its heart into the marvelous 770 case
