I know that I am one of many people looking for a checkbook program on the tablet. Has anybody looked into porting this app, GnuCash, to the tablet?

I do not have the maemo/linux development skills to know if this is even a reasonable request. It can't hurt to ask though.

You could try this application here (spend it) http://home.cfl.rr.com/genecash/nokia/index.html

I couldn't get SpendIt to work on OS2008. If you are really adventurous, you could try Grisbi, which works, but isn't the easiest to use IMO.

Thanks for the feedback.

As far as I know spend it does not work on 0s2008 so that is not really an option for me.

I have read about the various challenges with Grisbi and the couple of times I went looking for it, it was not available.

I was hoping for another alternative.

Has anybody done anything besides Homebank? (I find Homebank is just way overcomplicated)

Homebank also doesn't work since the port to the tablet is no longer updated (different file format uses I think). I find files created with an up to date version of homebank on desktops/laptops won't work in the version for maemo.

Actually I'm using Homebank with latest port, even if far from perfection it shares same file format of my desktop and this matters to me.
