Whenever I start my first instance of the browser it says "loading" and then "updating" (or actualy updaterar in swedish). This takes something between 7-10seconds and is VERY anoying.. its alot slower then most other apps to start.. anyone know why this happens? anyway to make it not check for whatever it wants to update?

i cant say for sure, but try deleting part of the log. i have found that as it builds up, the launch of the browser becomes ever slower. or at least, thats my take on it.

i have a but open on it, but i cant really say anything have come of it so far...

On the subject of the microb browser, why doesn't it save a History Log? Mine is always blank. It obviously remembers where you've been since the page back functions properly.

Sounds like something is broken on your end. History saves fine here.

I've found that having the adblock component enabled increases the startup time significantly. Even though I prefer to have adblock functionality in the browser, I would rather have it start up quicker than having to wait around for it to finally initialize.

This is actually the question I originally registered for - I was going to ask the same thing. When I start my browser (currently using microb, but it doesn't seem to make a difference if I switch back to opera) the window with the "blank page" title will open immediately, but I then have to wait over 30 seconds for the web page to actually come up. This isn't a connectivity issue - the same thing happens if the local Mozilla browser html page is the default. It is pretty annoying, and only occurs when the browser is starting. Subsequent open windows open quickly. However if I close them all out, it is the same long wait again after that.

I should mention that I am using OS2007, Version 4.2007.26-8.2.GOOGLE. It has been relatively stable, to the point that I honestly haven't felt the need to upgrade the OS, especially with some of the drawbacks that I've read about. I've not had the many of the problems that others had described with OS2007 - but the slow browser launch is driving me nuts.

One thing I noticed is enabling java scripting slows things down. Try disabling java scripting, it might help. If your home page is java intensive it will slow loading significantly. Its in the tools section of the menu.

An annoying bug yes. A workaround is delete to .mozilla. It has been discussed a number of times here.
