i have a problem with that
if it can handle hulu on a mogul, i think we should be able too, and yet....
no
so i would like very much to know the difference between the two, whether it be a hardware thing, or just that they own, and we got owned

I believe that SkyFire is doing ALOT of processing server-side, to reduce the load on the actual handset. Kinda like Opera Mini does. If that's true (I'm about 75% sure it is), then that's how - the IT processes everything on the actual device, which is alot to handle.

Maybe I could comment a bit on the flash performance on the device. Of course, everyone has seen it improving all the time. Now, there is only so much that can be done without changing to a faster processor. However one place that could be utilized for flash is the opengl chip on any device. I could make a wild guess that more and more of the mobile devices our there will actually start to be using accelerated flash. For example the AMD mobile chips have fully accelerated flash available. I have absolutely no idea how doable they would be for the OMAP chip, but it is opengl es 1.1 compatible as well as openvg 1.0 compatible. Now, openvg is really intended to be used for 2d graphics acceleration: http://www.khronos.org/openvg/

So, when you see really smooth flash on a mobile device, you can be really certain it is running it HW accelerated.

Also, as a note, you can also run the browser rendering HW accelerated once you have openvg running. Anyhoo, should be interesting times ahead for mobile users.
