Looks like Nokia is going to open its own shops in the US, bypassing carriers etc and selling directly to consumers. This is more about the nSeries high-end multimedia phones but no doubt internet tablets will get added to the selection at some point.

I'm guessing these are going to be unlocked phones? I guess a nice looking little store should be good advertising.

There is a nokia kiosk in the mall close by where I live. It took a while for them to get in all the updated phones (including the 770) but now they have all the latest stuff. Currently it is just a showcase for their products since they don't sell anything yet but I am sure it could be converted to a store with ease. And I am pretty sure everything would be unlocked so as not to annoy any of the cell phone providers.
