Ive been using this app on my pc for some time and considering it uses vlc as its main component and thats been ported already porting this app would make the N8xx a must have.

Having so many tv channels and radio stations from so many countries available would be insain. The interface looks as if it could be very finger friendly.

Currently its only in french but I would be willing to provide translation services as well as a guide for navigation for everyone else.

Ill be willing to pay for it too.

Would anyone else be interested?

I cant program but if anyone is interested to help it would make me very happy and ill do what I can

The only problem I can see right now is VLC was never ported completly (developer stopped since he didn't have time).

No, ADSL TV cannot be ported to Maemo.

There are some threads in the ADSL TV forum about why there is no Linux version of ADLS TV. Apparently besides VLC also some Windows specific stuff is used in ADSL TV (ActiveX...) and the author has no plans for porting ADSL TV to Linux.

Somebody else than the author will certainly not port ADSL TV to Linux as (contrary to VLC) it's only freeware but not opensource.

(imo ADSL TV is even violating the GPL, as they use VLC as part of their software but don't release any sourcecode)

Someone who speaks French (not me) should verify there's no source links anywhere around for VLC, and/or VLC is linked in (not just distributed alongside), and contact the VideoLAN team about it.

That too bad this would be one of the few apps I would have paid for to have on the tablet

Well, if it turns out to be in violation of VideoLAN's licensing (GPL), the most likely resolution would be a release of ADSL TV under the GPL; which couldn't hurt the chances of a port.
