Until now, I have seen absolutely no support for the dot net environment on the NIT. Not having worked with it, how hard is it to make it work on these devices?

I know it is possible to run dot net 1.1 and 2.0 on Windows Mobile 5 devices, with similar specs, and dot net 1.1 on ~56mhz ARM processor. As far as I understand, it's open source - or is it Microsoft?

thank you

Ilia

The project to build an open source .NET environment is Mono, and there has been work done to make it work on the tablets. It has been previously discussed in these fora (1) (2).

First find a complete implementation of .NET for Linux.

Then find a version that's compatible with armel.

Then ask the question again.

Heck, even Mono doesn't implement version 2.0 completely, let alone 3.0 and 3.5. At this point, Java is a much better option.

And no, .NET is not Open Source. Seriously, what did you think? This is from Microsoft...
