alright, got my n800 just some days ago and till now it's working perfect, the web browser crashed a few times but it's ok with me at the beginning i was a little disappointed because of 3 things:the flash player was working chopy and poor in youtube, metacafe, google videos, etc. but i got rid of that hacking the web browser and now works smooth so i can not only watch youtube and others but also full length movies in megavideo,66stage,etc. it plays actually better than my pc.the second thing is the skype voucher of 3 months.. i'm not american or canadian,i live in israel and just when i got the device i realized that it's only within usa or canada.. that sucks, now i can't make even landline free calls because grandcentral too is for usa only (for the moment) and not another countries yet and honestly who uses google talk? in my country we genarally use msn messenger, icq and yahoo messenger and with rtcomm there's no way to use the webcam or even the call feature in one of them.. that is my 3th disappointment:the built-in webcam.. not only because of the exclusive support in google talk or gizmo, the webcam has a very poor quality,i can't believe nokia developes 5 megapixels cameras to the n95 and we get this poor webcam.. the videos with "videocamera" sucks and the pics with "camera" even worse.. i don't know what about you guys but i see myself with green color distorsions in mine,i don't know how my friends see me coz as i said before we don't use here google talk or gizmo so for the moment the webcam is useless for me.
in the multimedia section i just found one disappointment and it's the ability to stream .wmv files, the n800 doesn't support such file extension so streaming of different tv channels is almost impossible although i got rid to stream a few such as sky news and others.
i must admit that i don't have a lot of apps coz i don't see something interesting in the maemo webpage and because i found for example rtcomm just luckily (i saw the link in a windows mobile blog) i need u guys to tell me what apps are great for u that i'm maybe missing, these are mine for the moment:skype, personal menu, vnc viewer, pidgin, rtcomm, maemo recorder, camera, videocamera, fbreader, lxdoom and maemodrac.. pretty slightly,ah? i do want to install more apps that i saw such as usb control (i don't have a female to female usb cable yet) and maqii (i'm using the standard 128mb mc that came with the device, this week i'll buy a 8gb sdhc) but as i said if u have more good and interesting apps to recommend me i'll be glad.
so that was all,i hope the next os2008 update will fix at least one of my complaints or maybe i'll need to wait for the os2009.. overall this is a great device with a great OS and i must say this forum is great and i see u guys are ready to support everyone, that's awesome,u guys keep it up and thank u.

ps: i'm considering to donate my voucher so pm me and maybe one of u will be lucky

Woah. I wish I could read that.

But I agree with the grandcentral thing, I wish it worked here, but other VoIP services do exist.

Paragraphs... please write in paragraphs

I use GoogleTalk and skype with my N800 without much trouble. I can almost squash a Skype voice chat over the GPRS link on my mobile phone.

The N800 is a fine device if you accept its limitations. I find it best not to treat it like a mini PC and ram everything I could possibly ever need in it. To me it's a portable web browser, chat client and mapping tool.

You could just edit your first post and add a blank line here and there and you'll have paragraphs (and many more people will then read it )

@luis-garcia: how did you "hack" your web browser to get set smooth
video playback?

mplayer streams many .wmv files.
There is also this thread:
"watch 93 TV stations round the world from your NIT"
http://www.internettablettalk.com/fo...ad.php?t=19044

If you want to watch some other tv streams please tell us
what those are. Perhaps we can help you?
