I have paired this headset with my N800 and I cannot get it to do stereo sound in any audio/video or phone application. I only get sound on the left channel. It works fine with my Blackberry Curve.

Any ideas? It the N800 capable of stereo bluetooth audio?

Search the forums for "A2DP"

...and "Good Luck"

Sorry Jason, I realise that my reply seemed (and was) unhelpful.

Like you I joined the forum as a new user (of an N800) expecting to find info and help on using/tweaking my IT.

I soon found that, after I'd ask a question (nicely, with 'Please' and 'Thank You'), I'd get cryptic replies pointing me at search boxes and sarcastic 'Newbie' animations. You will discover this if you have a look at some other threads on the forum.

I soon learned to stop asking questions. So when you posted about a subject that has been previously discussed, my spider sense tingled as I imagined all the SMs (Senior Members) circling for the kill. I have learned to recognize a 'tethered goat' newbie when I see one (being one myself). I was just wishing you luck with the answers.

I too have Moto S9s, and the answer to your original question appears to be that you must install some A2DP software on your IT. At present this software seems to be work-in-progress; a bit buggy, slow and power hungry, so I haven't bothered to install it on mine at present.
If you get it working let us know.

I am not a newb. I did search. I searched for:

S9
Bluetooth Headset Stereo
Stereo Headset
Motorola S9
Mono audio

I found nothing. It is not my fault the search function blows on this site.

Its really not the search function its the fact that some people don't title there posts right. Your titile is good just make sure if you get it working you post how you did it so if other poeple search they can find it.

Edit here is a post that should help you. It tells you why stereo doesn't work and what you need to fix it.

Here is the problem, to make your headset work with stereo you need the use the A2DP protocol and by default the tablet does not have this enabled. There are some patched out there that can enable it, but there are catches. You have to use software that pipes the audio through a special protocol, mplayer can and some others too. The people that wrote Canola have corrected this problem on the system level but it will not be released until the next big version of the OS is out. Then everything should work great.
Till then you can look into this it might help you, at least you will not feel alone anymore.

I disagree about the search being fine. I agree that people don't think about the title often enough, but you can't use quotes to search for phrases.

"Bluetooth Headset" is the same as Bluetooth Headset

Also, you can't use + to require the phrase(i.e. +"Bluetooth Headset")

Also, entering a phrase like "Bluetooth Headset Audio Not Working" actually searches for:

Bluetooth Headset Audio -Working

I would prefer a more google-like search.

And thanks for the help, by the way, but I never would have found the answer without magically knowing to search for A2DP.

Welcome to the forums. If you're interested in searching here with a more google-like interface, you might want to give this a try: http://www.google.com/cse?cx=0059812...%3Awt9tjwf2kd4
