In my 'connectivity settings', the connect automatically 'none' option, as mentioned in the help text for the Connectivity window is missing.
Thsi means that when using Wayfinder in the car in London, I am constantly interrupted by a message asking if I wish to connect to a list of wifi connections. If I set the N810 to offline, the idiot thing interrupts just as often asking if I want to exit the offline state.
Does anyone know why the option is missing. It makes the use of Wayfinder on the N810 possibly illegal in the UK.
Otherwise, does anyone know a good email for Nokia support on something like this? Their site obfuscates very successfully their support channels.

You need to set search interval to Never under connection settings. This was discussed yesterday

Edit just realized you are the guy from yesterday, don't know then since when I tell mine not to search it seems not to. Set search interval to 60 mins what are the chances that in that 30 sec time every 60 mins you will be near a wifi connection.

You're right. The Connectivity dialog offers "Always ask" rather than "None". It appears the documentation needs to be updated.

EDIT: I've created maemo bug # 3139 for this.

I'm not sure about that. I think what needs to happen more is that the 'None' option should appear and be implemented, making the documentation correct as is.

I'm used to being able to turn warnings on and off as required in Windows even if it means direct editing of the registry. There must be such an option with Linux, surely?

Thanks for the help, by the way.

Welcome to Linux not everything is as easy as it is in windows. In fact nothing is as easy as windows lol. As far as I know there is no way to stop them you can post a bug on maemo site about it.

It appears to me that "None--Select connection" in the documentation is "Always ask" in the dialog box.

Agreed. Voted.

And the least YOU could do is vote for your own bug!

Not the best of ways but you could set up a DummyIAP:
http://maemo.org/maemowiki/DummyIAP

(Although this would mean wifi radio is running :/)

What's the etiquette for maemo bugzilla? I've noticed some folks vote for their own submissions, but that feels improper to me. Similarly, I leave adjusting priority and severity to those who assign or work on bugs, but I've seen others bump those up. I've looked for, but failed to find, any documents offering guidance in these matters.
