If they left your previous install intact, I would just leave it alone, but from your post I would assume that it was restored back to 0s2007.
Go for 2008 if that is the case, always best to start fresh!

I'm contemplating on not even turning it on, and just charging it, then reflashing it as soon as its done.

If it's a new battery, charge it up fully first. Then reflash it once it's charged.

Why not re-flashing with the charger in ?
I usually do these steps in the following order:
1) power off the tablet
2) connect it via USB to the PC
3) run the flash command (I use linux command line). It waits for a tablet on the USB port
4) connect the charger to the tablet
At this point the flasher recognizes the tablet and will flash it.
When it has done flashing (i.e. the command quits back to shell)
5) disconnect the USB cable
The tablet will boot automatically (even if you don't do 5).

I'm really not sure what i should do with it, since the main problem i had with my old one was updating it. Any suggestions will be appreciated.
