I know the Archos player has an external camera that can be utilized to record video but is there anything available for the N810 that can do something similar? Just a thought as I would love to be able to video tape my drives that I frequently participate in on the car forums.

You need to check the "USB Host Mode" threads. You can use an external USB webcam if it is supported with Video4Linux, but it isn't that simple.

There are some net video cameras that will record to an SDHC for hours.

Something like this one that was featured on Boingboing the other day:

I don't know how well it is supported in Linux it is though.
