I saw that the emacs package included aspell
(http://danielsz.freeshell.org/code/m...acs-for-maemo/ - then under spell check), so I downloaded that and installed it. Then I went to ftp://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/aspell/dict/0index.html to grab the English dictionary.

Then I fired up Notecase Pro to turn on spell checking and found that I had a couple of more packages to copy over from my desktop installation:

en_US-wo_accents-only.rws
en-common.rws

After that, by golly, I have English spellchecking. To be honest, I now just get the underlined text to show that it's misspelled. I haven't figured out how to call up the alternatives yet. But this means that with aspell, Notecase Pro, and my Igo Stowaway keyboard, I have a remarkably capable writing tool.

I've written the Notecase Pro author to ask for tips, but I think it's cool that this was done without any special memory devices. Notecase Pro is a powerful little program, fast and responsive. And now I have something that's not just an internet tablet, it's a very capable portable writing device.

Nice! I've been using Notecase Pro often, but never got this to work.
