I was studying the feasibility of writing a seeqpod (www.seeqpod.com) player for maemo. Ultimately i've decided that the seeqpod api is unsatisfactory, primarily because of the number of broken links. There's a brief algorithm to check for this, but it is unsatisfactory. Hopefully seeqpod will start checking their links, and If this changes in the future i'll revisit it.

Anyway, i'm releasing a python mockup I did of the app, in case anyone wants to work on it or has further interest. It is in no way hildonized. And it is completely rough and unpolished. I apologize for this but i'm going to move on to some other way to help the community. But there is some functionality. Some of you might find a use for it(or do some more work hopefully ) I used it to search for music on my laptop and play it.

The player will provide links to mp3 files on the web. You will have to copy and paste them to the play field. then press play.

To search, you will have to sign up for a seeqpod account to get the User ID and make two small edits to the seeqnplay file so that it will point to your home account. These must be made in the store_key_callback and enter_callback functions. Either create a file in your home directory called .seeqnplay with the User ID, or use the menu.
