I ran the back-up program and flashed Diablo on my n800.
I noticed that my tablet locked up or crashed several times while trying to run programs. Now, my tablet is on an endless loop of booting up ...getting to the main screen... and shutting down.... Then doing it all over again..

WTF?

I dowloaded diablo to my n800 last night and this evening my sandisk 4 gig
internal card died. I hope it isn't a repeat of the bugs we had in a prior version.

I re-flashed it. Did not preform a back-up/restore.
The tablet isn't in the endless cycle anymore, but its still locking up.
I opened this forum in the tablet. The page won't close. The tablet asks if I want to close it. I say, "yes"... and nada!

I am now trying to update the tablet using the application manager. It's just hanging with a white screen and a blue bar. No text...no buttons... No progression. ...nada..

Everything is ''not responding''.... and not closing.

Ok... I tried downgrading and I get the same stuff.

Lockup---and then---cycle....

Did I just 'brick' my precious tablet by upgrading !?!?!?

Suggestions???

Ok.... So I downgraded from the downgrade... and in version 38.2007 everything became stable. When I tried to upgrade it wouldn't let me.

So, I removed all SD cards. I upgraded using a Diablo bin file already on my laptop. I have been reinstalling programs. But still haven't put the SD cards back in. Everything is running smoothly again....

So far...

I found the problem.

When I replace the memory card that stores the backup information into the tablet, it freaks out.

I don't even have to do anything. I don't have to try to access the card. It freaks out the moment it's inserted.

When removed, it's fine again...

Some usuful troubleshooting commands I've found are: (all in an X-term shell)

dmesg

This lists out the last 100 or so kenel messages

top

This gives a constantly updating screen of top most CPU hogging processes.

apt-get update

This is the same as refresh in the aplication manager, but give usuful messages about its status

apt-get -f install

This will find and try to fix any packages that did not install correctly. This includes ones you might not know about.

apt-get upgrade

This is also the same as in the application manager but will give more information about what did and did not upgrade

The are lots of other apt-get as well as dpkg program options that can solve various problems once identified.

Hope this helps.

raulito and others finding serious problems like you describe: go to http://bugs.maemo.org , search for similar issues and if you don't find them file a bug.
