The title says it all really.

I began downloading applications from Maemo and all of a sudden my browser stopped working. I've tried uninstalling the Minimo browser extension whatsit but no joy. Restarting the device doesn't help.

I'm running the most recent OS2006 update. When I can get a bigger memory card I thought I'd try 2007HE. Is this likely to cause more problems than it fixes?

How do I reset my 770 to factory?

A lot of the applications I tried to install were missing various libraries such as libreadline. How do you get these, or is this an indication that the app won't run on OS2006?

If you had a 770 in your hands right now, what are the first things you'd do with it to get it up to speed?

Oh, and an additional question: I've tried the OpenSSH client/server packages on Maemo.org but they're missing files. I also found this page here:

http://www.lecs.cs.ucla.edu/urban-se...ng_Useful_Apps

But the files linked from there are out of date and refuse to even try installing.

It seems like it would be easier to SSH into the device from a computer with a proper keyboard rather than trying to do any terminal stuff on the device itself.

I'm not sure how relevant any of this is. My main goals are to get media streaming to the device over wireless from TVersity, VNC or remote desktop support and a nicer browser.

Reflash the firmware to your 770. go to http://gronmayer.com/it and add repos.

You have to install ssh from "red pill" mode in the application manager.

I found the "Restore default settings" option which fixed everything. I'll give the new repo a go though, thanks!

Well, I rebooted it as per Canola's instructions and it won't get past the white boot screen. I'm reading in the forums that this isn't the WSOD and that I can reflash it. How do you do that?

Edit: I found this:

Thank goodness for VMware.

Do not do that, go here and get the windows updater, and if you want the newest 2006 OS just run the wizzard it will d/l it but if you want a hacker edition go here and d/l it.

I found that too and gave it a go. The USB icon in the top right stays up for three or four seconds then disappears. The wizard doesn't detect the tablet. What do you think is happening?

Nevermind, it actually worked this time! Thank you! That's definitely the easiest way to re-flash it.

Don't forget to install N770: installable bugfix for bug #2006 - Memory corruption during WLAN use to avoid getting into this trouble again.
