hmm try red pill mode in app manager, but at your own risk

Ah, sounds safer [edit:apparently it's not] than what I did in spite of the trouble you could cause in redpill.

I found the .desktop file in /usr/share/applications/hildon/ and deleted the .desktop file.

NOT recommended: I viewed the .desktop to see where the actual application was, and went and deleted the 'linked' file. Upon investigation the file that's linked is likely negligible for size (as is the .desktop file). To truly save space requires finding and deleting other files.

Removing the .desktop files is the way to do it. Removing the packages will remove osso-software-version and you wont get any SSU updates in the future.

The installers only actually constitute about 12 bytes total.

Just to be clear, Deleting the .desktop file is better than redpill uninstall. (right?)

I figured the games and installers were small. I didn't do this at the time, but you can use the command " ls -s " to see file size. There might be a file manager app that's easier if someone cares to comment.

Hmm, 0 blocks (bytes?) for chess_startup and chess_startup.launch chessui, all the size 312 blocks is in chessui.launch. This only assumes that those four are the application files for chess, and that there arn't more elsewhere (28 chfn? 28 chsh? 0 chvt?)

Of course you delete files you think are related, at your own risk. I guess the risk is limited to a re-flash, unless there is a directory you could boltch up that would prevent even that.
