i installed vim 7.0 from maemo extras-devel repository to my N800(Diablo), and try to make it syntax highlighting enable , but i failed.
it seem the .vimrc in ~/ not work?
is it a result of oss-xterm or busybox?

BTW, the ls --color not work too, i think it is result of busybox,
then where and how can i install bash, i can not found one in any repository of maemo?

hi douwen,

This VIM port should support syntax highlighting. You should be able to get it enabled from VIM.

I had ls --color working by a package called colorls but I don't know where it is. You should be able to get ls --color working by installing coreutils.

Also if you search an editor with syntax highlighting consider PyGTKEditor. Its a text editor written in Python & GTK2, and has syntax highlighting (but I don't know which syntaxes...)
