I seem to be having performance problems with GPE calendar with a large calendar file (340kB) - it takes ages to close sometimes. (Eg just tried it while writing this - took 30 seconds to close.) I'm also toying with the idea of switching to Pimlico Dates instead...

Questions:

1. Is there anything I can do about the slowness or is it just a feature? There's no purge function so I can't easily thin out the data.

2. What formats can Dates import? There seems to be no manual for it anywhere. It doesn't like my GPE calendar file! As there are no export functions that I can see in GPE calendar I guess I'm a bit stuck...

I don't think there's much we can do about the slowness. I think the latest version was a bit faster, but it might have something to do with my upgrade to diablo.

There is a bug filed on it, but linuxtogo seems to be down so I can't link to it.

You can export data from GPE Calendar using the command line. Try gpe-calendar --help. You need the -e option.
