So, I am in the midst of building a carputer, and I love the carmen/canola2 interfaces and options, but I would want to buy a more powerful computer than my precious n800 to run the all of the services i would like. Im not familar with programming on a touchscreen based device, but my understanding is that it uses the data of taps and drags the same way a mouse does (ie, when you click a mouse or tap the screen, the same thing is done) I may be way off here, so please correct me if I am wrong

So Handful/any other canola devolper here
Assuming the device I had could fully run ubuntu, and the touchscreen was fully functioning, would it be possible to use the Canola Test Build ("the binary build of Canola for the desktop linux") with a touchscreen?

If so I love you even more than I already did

ona a slightly unrelated note.

is this dock something you guys did, or at the very least, do you know who did?
I would love the specs on it

yessir, that was the release I was referring to (http://openbossa.indt.org/canola/developer.html for those who want the download and are unable to enter words into google =D)

i was just wondering if that would work with a touchscreen assuming the screen was fully functioning.

either way im going to get a 7" touchscreen in a bit, and will jsuttry and see if it works, but it would be niceto paln as much of the software implementation in advance as possible, id be able to start skinning an interface for my car etc

Hik Clever, yes...
in the linux build it expects a regular mouse, so you just need to make sure you hide the cursor and a simple touchscreen will make the trick.

The rest is fully working AFAIK

ps : the dock was made by a tuning house in south of Brazil, actually they "tuned" the whole car ( a Mustang) for Nokia. The owner is Tarso Marques.

LInkz?
I cant seem to find your photostream

and instead of opening a new thread, I just had a question

Same as the one in the first post, only with Carman
Unless I am mistaken, it currently only runs on ITs?
I see theres an accoutn for it on sourceforge, but not uploads =[

Well, there's one big difference here : carman is fully opensource
so if the interest existed people would be able to freely run it on any linux system

it's on the website but new version is coming together with canola. It's ready I asked to delay because it needs a new version of EFL, that could break canola.
