Any good suggestions for a way to view content offline? I need to get descriptions/listings of movies from a site and be able to view them offline on my Nokia n800. Any ideas of a way to rip a site to be able to view it without a wifi connection around?

Try the search feature of the forum. You could then try browsing through posts like this. I'm currently playing around with Plucker.

If you need this just for movies, here is imdb in text files:

you can make a dct file and use it in sdict viewer:

It is actually for a film festival. They have all of the listings up at http://tiff08.ca/filmsandschedules/f...h/default.aspx

I want to have access to all of the film descriptions even when I am offline.

I remember trying this a few years ago with Plucker and I decided to try it again with Plucker. I just used a desktop version of FBreader to test it and it seems to be "okay" but would like a bit of a cleaner version.

If anyone has any suggestions please post otherwise I guess I will just use the plucker version with FBreader on my n800.

Isn't there a version of httrack for the tablets? I'm pretty sure I had it running on my N800. If memory serves, you just point it to a web address and it does exactly what you describe, spiders the site and makes a local copy with all the links correct for local access.

I tried that httrack program on my PC. It looks like it could work well but I can't get the links to d/l just the main site page. I am using plucker now and I just tested it on my N800 with FBreader and it seems to be decent. There is some text I want to remove from the site though. I need to look into how to remove those parts.
