Anybody know how to get USB Networking working between the Nokia N810 (Diablo) and the Mac OSX (Leopard)? I installed the PC Connectivity package on my N810 Diablo. I Turn on the USB networking via the control panel applet, plug in the USB cable (no N810 drives pop up on the Mac which shows that the Nokia USB port is in the proper state). Then on my Mac Leopard I open a terminal window and ping 192.168.2.15 as described in the Maemo PC Connectivity/Test USB Connection doc. But I get no packets back - My Mac can't see the N810. Also I'm not sure that 192.168.2.15 is a correct IP address. Is this fixed when installing the PC Connectivity module on the N810? I haven't modified anything in my Mac OS cause there's no info about it and the Mac already has advanced USB functionality.

P.S. I've already read http://maemo.org/development/documen..._connectivity/

USB networking between leopard and the N810 used to work when i had Chinook installed - a USB ethernet device would appear automatically in network connections.

However, ever since installing diablo I have been unable to get it recognized - maybe something's changed between the two OS upgrades that makes USB networking impossible in its current setup?

I've tried everything: USB Control and even this AJZaurusUSB (http://www.dsitri.de/wiki.php?page=AJZaurusUSB).

Is there anyway to downgrade to Chinook so I can use USB Networking with my Mac Leopard?

Yes, reflash with a Chinook image.

But have you installed the update for the dummy connections? I'd guess that's the problem, though I don't know.

Hello Benson and votequimby. On this forum I did a search for "USB Dummy connections" and found a patch for Diablo that fixes the USB networking issue. It looks like it's going to work. I found the fix right before I had to leave for work and didn't have time to respond on this forum. Anyway it popped up the "new network connection" dialog on my mac. So it looks like it'll work. But I won't have time to really check it out untill tomorrow night.
Thanks for you help.

I installed the two packages to fix USB Networking as documented in HOWTO: Wired Networking using USB host mode and OS 2008. As I mentioned earlier I connected the N810 Diablo to my Mac OSX Leopard and the "new network connection" dialog on my mac popped-up. Anyway I stopped there until the next day and connected the N810 Diablo to my Mac OSX Leopard again and the "new network connection" dialog on my mac poped-up. But this time my N810 hung up. I couldn't even power down. I had to remove the battery to reset it. Now whatever I do, (of course I click the Setup USB Networking in the N810 Control panel applet. But the "new network connection" dialog never appears anymore. I tried reinstalling the two packages mentioned in the Howto, but no luck. Maybe I have to reflash my N810 with a new Daiblo and start over. Any advice would be appreciated.
