Hey all.

I have had my N810 for about 5-6 months. Everything has been great on it. I had it in my computer bag over the weekend (including Monday) and came to work today and it was dead. I plugged it in like usual and left it most of the day. I tried to boot it up and im just getting the Blue Nokia on the White background. A few seconds later it fades out. The power button does nothing...and the "Charging" never appears. If i unplug it and plug it back in it just repeats.

Any ideas??

Im really hoping its not dead. It was in a padded case, in a padded computer bag.

Thanks!
Kruzayn

If you have sshd installed, you could try to ssh in and fix it.

Otherwise reflash should work https://wiki.maemo.org/Updating_the_tablet_firmware

In *my* instance - It turned out I had a crappy battery that would not charge; I reordered a factory stamped BP-4L battery. Recieved it, charged it and all is well again.

Prior to changing the battery, the thing would give me the Nokia Boot Screen, dim severely, show streaks like a bad video issue, and all sorts of weirdness. Turns out certain generations of BP-4L battery were subject to recalls at some point in production (they are used in other Nokia Phones as well as the N810, I believe.

My N810, despite repeated drops and bad treatment, still boots like a champ.

Just sharing the symptoms, a new fresh battery could be a cure.
