I noticed a (new?) package in the app catalog called sudser. It is quite simple, and very tiny, but it successfully eradicates the need for things like gainroot, rootsh or sshing to root. It simply configures the existing sudo function to permit the user access to it for most things (instead of next to nothing). This is good because sudo is considered better practise than running everything as root, and because having a million ways to get a root shell is very silly. Sudo already exists on the tablet, so this is really just configuring it "properly".

Dead easy, and it made me very happy
