I need some confirmations about the Nokia N810 device.

I saw that you have a Nokia N810, and I'm planing to buy one. I only have in mind the fact that it's a powerful device for doing hacking stuffs.

The great interest I saw about the N810 is that you can run airodump (can you confirm?)

So the question is: Is it possible and as easy as on a computer to save packet captured with the N810 and cracking them?

Please can you tell me what's bad or good with such a device?

Yeah for the most part, I used to do a bit of wireless auditing last year. As long as you have the know-how and the right tools...

Yeah, kismet worked beautifully for me.... was a real productivity boon for me.

Airodump I can't confirm personally (I could only get it to work partially), but that was before the packet injection was suposidly fixed. It's in a thread somewhere, should work fine now as far as I know.

What do you mean? Have you been able to save IVs into a *.cap file??

if I remember correctly, yes. BUT... without packet injection it was painfully slow.

Packet injection will work if you use an external USB card. Those things are cheap, so if you really need packet injection, I'm sure you can pick one up for $15.

So the answer is yes, airodump does work. replaying is a different matter.

Yep, no problem, I was in a stressing condition when I wrote this thread, and I needed a quick reply because there was a N800 on eBay for about $90...

Sounds like a great buy to me, I'm sure another similar deal will pop up. My n800 has served me well, I love it

(but I paid a heftier price :-/)
