I am shopping for a BT cellphone to couple with N8x0 to get on the internet, use DUN/BT cellphone as modem. I am currently using Treo650 and is very happy about it. But I need one to work in HK/China.

1) When the phone has BT audio/headphone capacity, is that the same as BT DUN and will couple with N8x0 and function as modem? Is a BT is a BT or there are many different BT in other part of the world? Sorry if the question is real dumb....I am kind of desperate now,....If NOT, what is the specification I should look for.

2) I see a Treo650 with sim card slot insert in HK. Would that thing works just like my US Treo650 if i purchase sim card?

3) I would like to use in HK/China, am I looking for dual channel/dual sim card/BT.....could someone has experience give some direction, website, or the phone you are using....

TIA,

bun

1) BT has a lot of different protocols, DUN being the one you are looking for in a phone to tether.

I would go with a cheap Nokia s60 phone there are numerous to choose from such as the 6120c http://www.forum.nokia.com/devices/6120_classic
or E51 http://www.forum.nokia.com/devices/E51. They are guaranteed to work with the Nokia n8x0 and support HSDPA for fast downloads as well as having decent smartphone software on them.

Note that the Nokia E71 is a very nice device, works well with the N810, AND most importantly - uses the same battery as the N810. This has come in handy at times...
