Just bought a 770, and I'm really impressed so far. I'd like to get the largest RS-MMC card possible to add memory. I'm using the Nokia OS 2006 version 3.2006.49-2. I have parsed through the first 8 pages of posts, and don't see this specific question answered.

What is the biggest card I can use with this "stock" OS? 1 GB? 2 GB?
4 GB?

After a lot of confusing threads I found one that appears to answer my question. According to this one, 2 GB is supported by the "stock" OS:

Given that the 2gb cards can be had for ~$5 on ebay, I'll nab one and give it a spin.

I just put a 4GB SDHC card in mine. I did reflash my kernel, earlier, but stock OS2006 OS in flash.

So the contacts are the same on a full size SD card as a RS-MMC card? With SDHC cards coming in 16GB sizes now, that would be a pretty desireable mod...

Yes, the contacts line up fine. It's just the card size itself.
I'm not sure if the 8/16 GB cards are half length tho. I know the 4G on the brand I bought was. I was willing to test it for $10.

Also, I've been running one of Fanoush's kernels for quite a while. Not sure if that's needed, but I'd say it's great idea to do so. :-) You can do that without changing your OS.
