I got my N800 a couple of days ago, and so far it's working great. I bought it primarily to be a Skype phone, but the N800 seems to timeout from it's wireless connection after it has been idle for a while. It doesn't disconnect, it stills shows that I am connected to my AP, but I can't connect to anything.

I checked the Idle Times under Control Panel - Connectivity. The search interval is 'never' and idle time is 'unlimited'.

Is there something I'm missing? Do I have to force the screen to stay on?

Thanks!

To test, try disabling wifi power saving mode. control panel -> connectivity -> connections -> (select your wifi connection) -> edit -> next -> next -> advanced -> other -> power saving: off .

If that has works you could also try "on (intermediate)." In the case that one of those helps the situation it's a problem with your router not properly supporting wifi power saving mode.

This exact same thing happened to me with my N800 and N810, thankfully I've finally solved it. It's not an issue with powersave it's something to do with DHCP and the router assigning IPs.

I've found that if I assign the N800/810 a static IP (within the correct range, I've put it so it's outside what my router will assign. i.e. 192.168.3.5, and set the router ip range to 192.268.3.10-255 etc.) it connects fine and stays connected!

Anyway, I hope this helps you, this drove me mad for weeks.
