The N800 can connect to internet using WiFi or bluetooth.

Is it possible to connect the N800 to the PC using the USB cable and use the PC as a gateway??

I bit like active sync does on windows mobile.

Would you be better off just buying a USB-to-ethernet adapter and plugging into the home network?

i'm guessing you'd get much faster speeds with the usb-ethernet adapter?
