Media Player began to fail a few days ago. Doesn't update the library (not detect new files and doesn't remove those who no longer exist). I found that the metalayer-crawler is not running.
I tried to manually run it in different ways: without arguments and with -F, as root or as user. In any case it worked, using -F I get Segmentation fault.
I deleted the file .meta_storage and still cannot make start the metalayer-crawler and with -F Segmentation fault persists.
I removed the miniSD card and format the internal memory assuming that the crawler may have trouble with some files, but nothing changed.
Any ideas? (other than reflash )

thx in advance. dd. //

Same.

# /usr/bin/metalayer-crawler -F
Segmentation fault

Must have started yesterday. That's when I noticed that Media Player no longer shows any Video/Music files.
So it did work a while after the last SSU.

Someone wants to actually start metalayer-crawler? ;P

But it starts for me succesfully on the latest SSU:
[1|root@N800PIMPIN|~]osso-product-info | grep OSSO_PRODUCT_RELEASE_VERSION
OSSO_PRODUCT_RELEASE_VERSION='5.2008.43-7'
[1|root@N800PIMPIN|~]/usr/bin/metalayer-crawler
[1|root@N800PIMPIN|~]ps | grep metalayer
2686 root 16584 SW /usr/bin/metalayer-crawler
2688 root 1888 RW grep metalayer
[1|root@N800PIMPIN|~]

Nokia-N800-23-14:~# osso-product-info | grep OSSO_PRODUCT_RELEASE_VERSION
OSSO_PRODUCT_RELEASE_VERSION='5.2008.43-7'
Nokia-N800-23-14:~# /usr/bin/metalayer-crawler
Nokia-N800-23-14:~# ps | grep metalayer
6006 root 1888 SW grep metalayer
Nokia-N800-23-14:~#

I know most people spend their days disabling metalayer-crawler. But I prefer to have a complete list of my audio-/video files in the media player. And this list is empty now.

That's odd . You should try stracing it or running gdb and getting a backtrace on it*

*I'm not really much of a programmer (hell, more of a quick hacker to code) so I can't guarantee that I'd be able to understand the output (someone else may be able to though)

@querty:
Did you re-flash or upgrade via SSU?
