Im using my n800 for having livescores on it while I watch games on my TV.... my problem is that the screen switches off. And I can only set this to as high as 5mins to stay turned on. The only possibility i found so far to keep it on is by loading the n800. Is there any app or setting that i couldnt find to keep it turned on for longer??? thank you guys in advance....

did you see this thread?

it might be totally outdated (it's from 2007) and i tried none of it, but it might be worth a try.

EDIT: oh come on, lcuk, that's not fair! - at least i wrote full sentences.

Full sentences slow him down too much when he's Faster than Paper!

well i started to write something, then erased it, then searched google for the dimming options thing, then removed my text, browsed slash some more and then posted.

we were in a race??

sjgadsby, its a great contradiction of terms with computers around, but compared to the hundreds of notepads that have gone for recycling its true.

No. - I declare it a race only after I've won.

It's probably the other way round: Being faster than paper, he'd win even if he wrote 3-page articles... *sigh*

You could run noscreenblank in the background, e.g. from an xterm.

The executable starts a process which runs in an infinite loop, calls osso_display_state_on and osso_display_blanking_pause, then sleeps for 50 seconds, and so on, until it is killed.

If you want to return to the normal blanking behaviour, just kill the process.

Executable: http://armin-warda.de/noscreenblank

regards, Armin.
