Hello,
I am trying to get KFOG (FM station from San Francisco) to play on my N810.
It used to play fine, until they went to a custom player, that you select off their site.

http://player.cumulusstreaming.com/Audioplay.html?kfog-FM

Can get it to play on both Windows and Ubuntu, so I assume a codec problem?

Any help most apppreciated.
Regards,
CSF

No, it's just an unfriendly web player.

Try this URL:
mms://live.cumulusstreaming.com/KFOG-FM

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

BUT - How were you able to take the stuff I had from their website

http://player.cumulusstreaming.com/A...y.html?kfog-FM

and turn it into the mms://live.cumulusstreaming.com/KFOG-FM

that plays in the Media Player?

Regards,
CSF

I don't think this is the kind of answer you're hoping to receive, but here goes: I checked your URL and confirmed it loaded an embedded web player. MicroB & Media player don't tie together in a way that lets those work, so I went looking for a better alternative on the KFOG site. Finding none, I skimmed through the JavaScript code for their web player to see what URL it built and called. Following that URL led to an ASX file that Media player didn't like. No big surprise there, as Media player's ASX parsing skills are....weak. However, inside the ASX file was a MMS URL, and when Media player was given that bare URL, it buffered and played happily.

Enjoy!

I know this thread's over a year old, but I'm glad I found it - KFOG's a great station, makes me miss San Francisco (more than I already do). Been trying to track down a way to listen on my n810. Cumulus stations are the worst, with that embedded player thing they force upon you.

Thanks again mate.
