Does anyone have any pointers towards triggering the running of applications on network connection being started? In particular I'd like to trigger erminig to run and update my google calendar.

I've seen that it's possible to run this as a cron job but this doesn't satisfy my needs as I don't want to leave the network running all the time.

I searched for it before, and it seems that you can put scripts in /etc/network/ifup.d/ but that doesn't seem to work here...

You can also use the Connection Handler program in extras but you will have to set up which commands you want to run for every access point you are using.
