My N800 is now just over 2
years old and just over the warranty period, when the screen started jittering vertically. The jitter is light, only 1mm or so, so things are still readable, but I believe it is getting worse.
After reading about similar screen problems others had, I started to heat up the device with a hair dryer - and wonder: the jitter stops, screen is crisp again.
Putting it back into a refrigerator, the jitter starts again.
So this is definitely a heat problem. Is there any solution? Replacing the touch screen may be an option, but far too expensive, not economical.
Any other idea? Used N800s in Germany still go for 150€ at ebay/amazon, so I'm reluctant to go this path.

My N800 showed the same problem when it was just 11 months old. I got it repaired in the US under warranty.
