I asked this question but certainly got lost in a thread.

I want to add the -noatime option for mounting SD cards to make the card last longer (I use a 16GB internal card that essentially has all my $HOME). /etc/fstab does not control this device. Where do I add this option?

Many thanks!!
L.

On my OS2007 system I edited /usr/sbin/mmc-mount
Maybe that'll work on OS2008 as well.

Yes, that seems the file, and it already has the noatime option activated. However, it says "mount -t vfat..." and my card is mounted as ext3, so that file cannot be the one actually used.

Thanks!

There's also /usr/sbin/osso-mmc-mount.sh, which, iirc, has some ext2 stuff in it. Possibly ext3 too.

Yes. That script calls mmc-mount, and if it returns an error, then it tries with ext3, and if it fails, with ext2.

And it worked. I added the option to that file, open and closed the back door, and the card was remounted with noatime option activated.

Thanks a lot!!!!!

Cheers,
L.
