Look at this picture :

Whaaaaa, it looks exactly like the supposed N900 ... but it's a MID branded "COMPAL"

http://www.engadget.com/2009/06/05/m...tel-surprised/

By the way, this article is quite interesting ...
It seems that our tablets are not the only ones to have difficulties to find a public, MID sales were "desastrous" :

"Intel claims that the weak sales were due to the global economic downturn but we have another opinion: mainstream consumers don't want a device that is too big for the pocket, provides less functionality than a netbook, and is priced like a laptop."

Just because both look about the same does not make them the same.

But at least this one does exist and is not just a CG rendering (a poor one)

the pic wasn't a phone. Many people speculated that it was based on the unconfirmed specs.

It's just a Compal reference design still sold for example as Aigo MID(800MHz Atom 512MB RAM). Check jkkmobile.com, he is a big fan of the Aigo and made it pretty useful by using XP and EWF.

Well, it could still be a CG rendering... How do you know it's not.

But, it is definitely interesting!

What is more interesting to me than the pic is endgadget's the take on this >> http://www.digitimes.com/news/a20090604PD214.html

Engadget is no more an authority on what "people" want than any other blog that engages in non-analytical metrics of a niche device to a niche audience...

...find some real metrics (Pew and American Life, Tomi Ahonen, etc.) and then let's talk about who's take is accurate
