Title says it all really.

Now there appears to be a good idea of what Fremantle will look like, would anyone, Nokia or other, be able and willing to put a Fremantle style theme together for the N8x0s?

The final UI's nownot been revealed yet; so the question is which of the following do you want:
  1. A dark grey/olive skin for Diablo inspired by the SDK theme.
  2. A Fremantle-style layout without a side panel.
  3. A tablet which looks and acts like the Maemo 5 device will on launch.

#1 requires a theme designer; but should be straightforward.
#2 is Mer but it has a light theme, rather than a dark one.
#3 is probably Mer with a new theme based on whatever Nokia ships with Maemo 5. However, there are relatively good reasons why Mer might no ship that as the default.

#1 would be ideal actually.

#2 I've actually got Mer dualbooting on my N800, and keep experimenting with it, but not had the guts to go with it as my primary OS. For me it's not there yet, but starting to come close.

#3 - I'll beg the wife (not the community!) for a device that looks and feels like the maemo 5 device

Cheers Andrew

I'm afraid the devel theme translates very badly to Maemo 4, you could practically only re-use its worst parts. If anyone wants to have a go at it, go ahead, but I wouldn't really see the point to be honest.

Also, devel themes have been much improved since the SDK release, so I would wait until the final release. I will make sure that they are in a good state and at least available as a download somewhere. I put a lot of effort into those, and I believe some people will like them.

Which means, that you can reuse almost all of it. Or maybe the good parts are hidden so well, that I didn't find them yet.
